At Building Harmony Counseling Services, we offer compassionate, evidence-based care for individuals, couples, and families. Whether you are navigating personal challenges, relationship difficulties, trauma, parenting, or the unique demands faced by first responders and their loved ones, our team is here to help you find greater harmony, resilience, and healing.

  • Individual counseling provides a safe, supportive space to explore challenges, gain insight, and create meaningful change. Our therapists work with adults and children (ages 5+) using approaches such as CBT, EMDR, and Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) to address anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, life transitions, and the unique stressors often experienced by first responders. Together, we’ll build practical coping strategies and move toward greater emotional well-being and resilience.

  • Couples counseling offers a structured, non-judgmental environment to strengthen communication, rebuild trust, and deepen connection. Whether you are navigating conflict, betrayal, parenting stress, intimacy concerns, or the demands of shift work and first responder life, we help couples develop healthier patterns and restore harmony in their relationship. Our work draws from evidence-based approaches, including Gottman-informed methods, tailored to your unique story.

  • Family counseling supports families in improving communication, setting healthy boundaries, and strengthening relationships. We work with the whole family or specific members to address conflict, parenting challenges, blended family dynamics, and the ripple effects of stress or trauma. Our goal is to foster greater understanding, empathy, and connection so your family can move forward with more harmony and resilience.

  • Premarital counseling helps couples build a strong foundation before marriage by developing essential skills in communication, conflict resolution, and shared values. Whether you are engaged or recently married and want proactive support, this focused work equips you with practical tools to navigate challenges and create a healthy, lasting partnership.

  • Play therapy is a developmentally appropriate approach that allows children (ages 4+) to express emotions, process experiences, and develop coping skills through the natural language of play. In a safe, supportive environment, children can work through anxiety, trauma, grief, behavioral challenges, and family changes while building self-esteem and emotional regulation. Our play therapists are specially trained to meet children where they are.

  • Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) is a brief, evidence-based treatment that helps clients quickly process and resolve distressing memories and images. Using guided eye movements and voluntary image replacement, ART often brings significant relief in just a few sessions without requiring clients to talk in detail about traumatic events. It is especially effective for trauma, PTSD, anxiety, grief, and phobias. Our trained therapists in ART integrate this powerful modality into individual or intensive sessions.

  • EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a well-researched therapy that helps the brain reprocess traumatic or distressing memories so they no longer feel as emotionally charged. Through bilateral stimulation (typically eye movements), clients can reduce symptoms of PTSD, anxiety, and trauma while building more adaptive beliefs about themselves and their experiences. Our EMDR-trained therapists integrate this powerful modality into individual or intensive sessions.

  • We provide high-quality clinical supervision for LPC-Associates and LMSW's seeking licensure in Texas. Our experienced LPC-Supervisors and LCSW-Supervisors offer supportive, ethical guidance that emphasizes clinical skill development, self-awareness, and professional growth. Supervision is available for both onsite and offsite associates who are committed to becoming competent, compassionate therapists.

  • Our Business Consultation & Coaching services support therapists and practice owners who want to start, grow, or strengthen an ethical private practice or group practice. Drawing from our own experience building and leading Building Harmony Counseling Services, we offer practical guidance on operations, compliance, marketing, team development, and sustainable business practices while keeping the heart of clinical work at the center.

  • Counseling intensives provide extended, focused sessions (typically half-day or full-day formats) for clients who want to make accelerated progress on trauma, anxiety, or other concerns. Using EMDR or Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) or just for more time to navigate struggles than the typical 50-minute session, intensives allow deeper work in a shorter overall timeframe and are especially helpful when weekly sessions feel too slow or when life circumstances require faster relief. (Note: Intensives are not covered by insurance.)
