When weekly therapy feels too slow — or life circumstances call for deeper, focused work in a shorter window — counseling intensives offer extended time to make meaningful progress. At Building Harmony Counseling, intensives are available as half-day or full-day sessions tailored to your goals.
Who this is for
Counseling intensives may be a fit if you are:
• Seeking faster relief than a typical weekly 50-minute session allows
• Ready for focused trauma work using Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) or Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART)
Couples needing more time to address relationship difficulties
• Navigating a time-limited window (travel, leave, a life transition) and want concentrated support
• Feeling “stuck in weekly therapy and wanting a more immersive reset
• Preferring extended time for complex goals without rushing
How we help
Intensives give you more continuous time with your therapist in one sitting. Depending on your needs, an intensive may use Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), or simply longer session blocks for processing, skills work, and integration.
We will clarify goals ahead of time, pace the day in a way that respects your nervous system, and build in breaks so the work stays sustainable.
Important: Counseling intensives are private-pay and are not covered by insurance.
What to expect
Half-day and full-day options are available. Your therapist will help you choose a format, prepare for the intensive, and plan follow-up care if needed. Sessions can be in person at our Frisco office or virtual across Texas when clinically appropriate.
