Accepting New Clients

Hi, my name is Ben Morrissette. I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate passionate about supporting individuals and families on their journey toward mental health and well-being. My path in mental health began with a BA in Philosophy from Saint Anselm College, where I developed a deep curiosity about the human mind and heart. I later earned a Master’s degree in Psychology from the University of Dallas, transforming that curiosity into professional expertise.

I worked at a residential treatment facility for abused/neglected boys for ten years.I provided care management for the elderly and disabled as a Case Manager for Medicaid home health services. More recently, I worked to mentor students at an online charter school, and  have worked in private practice for three years.

In my work, I aim to help clients identify their goals for counseling and work collaboratively with them to achieve those goals. I provide a safe, empathetic, and non-judgmental space to explore challenges such as trauma, anxiety, depression, grief, ADHD, ADD, anger, attachment issues, or adjustment difficulties. I utilize an eclectic approach that draws from evidence based practices, depth psychology, psychodynamic theory, and existential-phenomenological frameworks as well as Play Therapy techniques for children. I tailor my approach to the client’s unique needs, fostering self-discovery, resilience, and meaningful change.  Whether through individual, group, or family therapy, my focus is to empower clients to navigate difficulties, build stronger relationships, and create a life that is integrated, whole, and more fulfilling.

I am dedicated to helping children, adolescents, adults, and families grow and thrive through compassionate, family-centered counseling. My approach with children is tailored to each child’s developmental stage, creating a warm and supportive environment where they feel safe to express their emotions, develop coping skills, and build confidence. I believe the family unit is central to a child’s well-being, and I work closely with parents to understand and incorporate the aqaaafamily’s values and goals into the therapeutic process.
