Rhiannon Grimsley, BS
Graduate Intern

Accepting New Clients Soon

My name is Rhiannon Grimsley, a practicum student currently earning my Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Lamar University. My expected graduation is May 2026. I received my Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Texas Woman’s University in 2022.

I’ve worked in the mental health field for over five years, and my journey has given me a unique, well-rounded perspective. I began as a receptionist and assistant office manager at Kazmo Brain Center, a private practice providing individualized care for clients of all ages. From there, I stepped into a leadership role as the manager of Haven Behavioral Hospital in Frisco (now Medical City Mental Health & Wellness Center), where I helped oversee both PHP and IOP programs for adolescents and adults. Most recently, I served as a case manager through the YES Waiver program, helping children and teens ages 5 to 18 who were experiencing complex challenges such as anxiety, depression, schizophrenia, mood disorders, and more.

Each step of my experience has reinforced my belief in the importance of understanding a client’s journey from start to finish—not just once they’re in the therapy room, but from the moment they reach out for help. I’ve seen how impactful those early moments are, and I carry that awareness into every session.

I enjoy working with clients of all ages, as well as couples and families. I’m especially passionate about trauma and helping clients get to the root of their emotions and experiences. My approach to therapy is empathetic, client-centered, and built on trust. I strive to create a space where you feel seen, heard, and supported as we work together to make meaningful progress.

I’ve also been in the client seat myself and know firsthand how life-changing therapy can be. I believe that doing your own inner work makes you a better clinician, and I continue to prioritize my own growth and self-care.

Outside of therapy, I enjoy playing volleyball, creating art, spending time with my loved ones, and challenging myself to learn new things. I look forward to walking alongside you as you take steps toward healing and growth.
