My name is Monica Rios and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate (supervised by Christopher Keener, LPC-Supervisor). I received my Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration at the University of Texas in Brownsville and my Master's in Counseling at Southern Methodist University. I began counseling clients in 2022 at the SMU's clinic. During that time, I also worked as a full-time Bilingual teacher for 13 years.

Trust is the cornerstone of therapeutic relationships, and I am dedicated to fostering a trusting and collaborative environment where my clients can work towards their most important goals. With a focus on empathy and respect, I will tailor therapeutic strategies to address each client's specific needs, ensuring a personalized and practical counseling experience.
 
My experience spans a wide range of mental health challenges, including anxiety, depression, life transitions, trauma, family and couples' issues, children, adolescents, and adults, as well as trauma. I am committed to helping my clients navigate these challenges and supporting them on their healing and personal growth journey.

Insurance and Fees

Monica offers telehealth appointments only

Monica is not in-network with any insurance companies at this time but she offers a reduced out of pocket rate:

*Telehealth video initial 45-50 minute session: $75
*Telehealth video routine 45-50 minute session: $75

Cancellation fees:

If you need to cancel your appointment, a 24 notice must be given to avoid being charged. If you cancel the appointment with less than 24 hours notice or do not attend a scheduled appointment (no show), a fee of $75 will be charged to your account. A credit card is required in order to schedule the initial appointment, and this will be kept on file for session payments as well as in the event that a cancellation or no show fee is charged.

Please note that only Credit Cards, Debit Cards and Health Savings Accounts are accepted for payment. Cash and Check are not accepted.
